SHIKARPUR, April 7: Vice-President of Sindh PML Ghulam Mustafa Bhutto said here on Thursday that he agreed with the People’s Party Parliamentarians leaders that the PPP enjoyed support of masses in the country, particularly in the Sindh province. Therefore, he said the PPP should be invited to form government in Sindh as it was their democratic right and it enjoyed majority in the provincial assembly. Talking to newsmen he said that the Pakistan Muslim League was the only national political party which could claim the credit of creating Pakistan.

Mr Bhutto said that the PML was determined to undertake all kinds of constitutional, democratic and moral efforts for its stability in order to serve the country and the nation without any discrimination.

He appealed to PML leaders to shun their petty differences to promote democracy and win back people’s confidence in the Muslim League.

He expressed full confidence in the leadership of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and PML general secretary Mushahid Hussain Syed.

VILLAGER KILLED: One person was killed due to an old enmity in the Ali Ahmed Brohi village, Shikarpur taluka, on Thursday.

Sher Mohammad Bakhrani, Khan Wadho Bakhrani and other unidentified armed men attacked the Ali Ahmed Brohi village and killed Jahan Khan Brohi.

The accused managed to escape from the scene. The Sultankot police have registered the case.

Mirani’s charge: Former defence minister Aftab Shaban Mirani has alleged that the rulers have done nothing for the masses and totally failed to curb crimes, including kidnapping for ransom, robbery and murder, because of which the people, particularly of Sindh, feel a sense of insecurity and frustration.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Wednesday, Mr Mirani said he believed that 2005 was the year of general elections because the prevailing national and international situation would force the rulers to do so.

He claimed that PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto would become prime minister once again following victory in the upcoming elections. Denouncing the arrest of PPP MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio and others, he termed it a conspiracy against the People’s Party Parliamentarians.

He termed the bifurcation of Hyderabad into four districts a conspiracy to divide the

people on the basis of rural and urban populations, and thus, affect the vote bank of the PPP.

PROTEST: Doctors and paramedics of the civil hospital boycotted OPD duties and staged a sit-in outside the main gate of the hospital here on Wednesday to protest against alleged attack on medical officer Dr Anwar Wagan of the Jacobabad civil hospital as well as vandalism in the hospital.
