LARKANA, April 5: Two people were killed by armed men near Dhamraho when they were returning to their village from Larkana on Tuesday. The armed men opened fire on them from bushes near Hameer Wah. Those killed were identified as Imtiaz Mirani and Nizam Mirani. The assailants escaped after committing the crime. The motive behind the double murder was said to be a land dispute. Relatives of the deceased blocked the Larkana-Ratodero road carrying bodies for two hours.

DPO Saeen Rakhiyo Mirani reached the spot and assured the bereaved family that the killers would be arrested.

On this, they called off the protest.

In another incident, four people killed Jabbar Jatoi in Hussainabad village in the Bakrani police area over a land dispute.

DIVISION: Sindh Democratic Party vice-chairman Amanullah Shaikh has criticized division of the Hyderabad district, saying it will pitch people against each other.

In a press statement here on Tuesday, he said instead of addressing burning issues of Sindh like law and order, unemployment and poverty, new districts were being created.

He described the Sindh chief minister as a failed administrator.

He said the government bifurcated Hyderabad to please its allies.

Mr Shaikh accused the chief minister of pushing the province towards a civil war by such moves.
