KARACHI, Oct 28: Medium-pacer Abdur Rauf continued his excellent form by picking up six for 40 as the Sui Gas-Wapda clash in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I headed for an exciting finish at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Sunday.
Sui Gas, after being set 120 for their first win, closed the second day on 40 for three, according to details available here.
Earlier, Rauf sliced through the Wapda’s second innings to take his season’s haul to 40 with the match bag of nine for 84.
Wapda were eventually bundled out for 104 after taking a slim lead of 15 runs on the first innings. Rauf was given good support by Azhar Abbas with a return of three for 40.
Saleem Mughal finished unbeaten with 48 in nearly three hours off 130 balls as Sui Gas collected 41 runs having resumed at 101 for seven.
Waqas Ahmed, a tall right-arm pace bowler, claimed five for 53 while fellow pacer Kashif Raza took four for 46.
