11 more bodies found

LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), April 2: Rescue teams found the bodies of eleven more soldiers in the Kachkol post area of Tirah Valley on Saturday.

They included a soldier, Zait Ali, and 10 personnel of the Khyber Rifles who have been identified as Naiks Jan Mohammad, Ikram Khan and Zaitullah, Lance Naiks Haji Mohammad, Bahawalpur, Anwar Sadat, Akram Khan, Shah Moos Khan and Sepoys Khayal Mohammad and Arif Khan.

Special teams of the armed forces equipped with modern gadgetry and locals of the area are participating in the search operation.

A 30-member contingent of the 64FF regiment of the Pakistan Army and the Khyber Rifles had gone missing after they were hit by an avalanche during heavy snowfall in the Tirah Valley on Feb 11. So far, 18 bodies have been recovered from the area.

Seven soldiers had been recovered alive from the area after a few days of the incident.
