KARACHI, April 1: The police on Friday registered cases of arson attacks against Ponam activists at various police stations. The incidents occurred during Thursday’s strike call by Ponam.

An FIR 110/2005 was registered against Faizullah, Alamgir, Waris Khan, Anwer, Ashraf, Amir Khan and Bashir at the Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police station for setting fire to a KFC vehicle. In addition, cases against 200 absconding Ponam workers were also registered at the same police station.

An FIR 89/2005 was lodged against Yousaf, Allah Noor and Mohammad Yousaf at the Sohrab Goth police station. They were arrested for setting fire to a radio cab (AFS-028).

At the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station, an FIR 165/2005 was registered against Khadim Husain, Rafiq and others for setting fire to a G-3 minibus.
