KARACHI, April 1: A constable of the Frontier Constabulary died in controversial circumstances at an FC post outside the US Consulate on Friday.

Police said constable Shah Wali died when his official weapon accidentally went off. However, hospital sources were of the opinion that he might have shot himself dead.

The victim died on the spot. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

However, press photographers were not allowed to carry out their professional duties and were manhandled by FC officials at the hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A senior official of a biscuit factory was shot dead in Defence on Friday.

Police said as Saleem Azeem, 60, drove from his DHA residence in Phase VIII with his driver Manzoor and daughter Sherzad, their car was intercepted by unknown persons in a car close to their house.

As one of the suspects alighted from the car, Sherzad tried to offer her jewellery, but the suspects refused and pumped two bullets into Saleem and fled.
