Published March 12, 2005

KARACHI, March 11: A new entrance is being constructed for emergency patients of the National Institute of Cardio-Vascular Diseases.

DIG Traffic Yameen Khan told Dawn that the chief of the NICVD Dr Azhar Farooqui requested the Sindh governor to establish another emergency gate for patients as they were trapped in traffic jams.

Accordingly, a meeting was held between the officials of corps headquarter and the DIG traffic and it was decided that a new entrance for NICVD would be built through the NAB office next to the petrol station to facilitate emergency patients.

Mr Yameen said the gate would soon be opened for public. However, he said only emergency patients would be allowed to use the gate.
