PESHAWAR, March 4: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) chief has directed his staff to stop overcharging consumers for avoiding complications and improving company's performance.

A press release says Chief Executive Brig Tahir Saeed Malik visited the company's central complaint cell at Wapda House here on Friday, listened to the complaints of consumers and issued instructions on the spot to the staff.

He took exception to over billing in certain cases and asked the authorities concerned to make field staff stop their illegal practices. The Pesco chief took serious notice of the growing complaints against the power company and stressed improvement in company's affairs to overcome people's problems.

He asked the officers to instruct the field staff that they must take prompt action on any complaint. The chief also advised the complaint cell staff to bring about positive change in their attitude.
