DADU, May 29: The shortage of irrigation water has adversely affected 30 per cent of agriculture in the current season. Besides, if the situation continues, the agricultural system will be destroyed completely in Sindh.

This was stated by the convener, PONAM, Sindh, and chairman, Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party (STPP), Dr Qadir Magsi while addressing a press conference and the District Bar Association, Dadu, on Wednesday.

He said that due to an acute shortage of water the growers had not cultivated cotton crops in many parts of Sindh and there was no water even for drinking in many areas of Sindh.

He said that if the federal government did not shelve the greater Thal canal and Kalabagh Dam, the Sindhi people would not allow the products manufactured in Punjab province into Sindh.

TWO HELD: The Dadu town police on Wednesday arrested two more officials, Ghulam Rasool Khokhar and Imam Bux Channo, of the Civil Hospital for interrogation in connection with the equipment stolen from the hospital.

It may be recalled that the in charge of the Coronary Care Unit, Civil Hospital, Syed Noor Babi Shah was arrested by the police on Tuesday.
