DHAKA, Feb 23: Bangladesh on Wednesday banned two extremist groups for alleged links to a wave of bombings of non-governmental groups, holy shrines and other targets and said it had arrested one of their leaders.
The crackdown came on the same day as the start of a two-day conference of Bangladesh's aid donors in Washington.
On the agenda was the issue of lawlessness in the South Asian country and the Bangladesh government's failure to track down the culprits behind a series of bombings and grenade attacks. -AFP
