KARACHI: CM visits civil hospital

KARACHI, Feb 21: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Monday paid a surprise visit to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) and reviewed performance of its staff and provision of facilities to patients.

Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Power Nadir Akmal Leghari, Chief Secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani, Health Secretary Dr Naushad Ahmed Sheikh and other officials accompanied the chief minister.

Dr Arbab went round different wards of the hospital and met patients. He inquired about the medicines and treatment facility provided to them and asked them if they had any complain against the staff.

He directed the CHK medical superintendent and other officials to ensure a clean and hygienic atmosphere at the hospital. He asked doctors and paramedical staff to ensure best possible health care facilities and regular provision of medicines to patients.

During his visit, the chief minister was informed that renovation work costing Rs30 million had already been started at the hospital. Dr Arbab also distributed gifts among patients. -PPI
