KOLKATA, Feb 19: Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has welcomed hosting of a Test match of upcoming cricket series against Pakistan in Kolkata and denied he carried any scars from experience of 1999 when the match between the two arch-rivals was marred by crowd trouble.

"Even though I consider all grounds in my country as home ground, it is always special to play a Test in Eden Gardens," remarked Ganguly on hearing that Kolkata will replace Ahmedabad as one of Test venues for coming series.

Even though he looked forward to playing at Eden Gardens, he refused to let out his preference for the pitch and at same breath denied he was looking forward to another stint in county cricket.

"I will never speak on matters of pitch again. It is the issue with concerned authorities. As for county cricket, I am not keen at the moment. I don't know how it started, " Ganguly said.

He is carrying fresh good memories of Kolkata as he led India to An emphatic win over South Africa for a 1-0 score line in the series held earlier this season. He has so far captained India in 44 Tests and won 18 of them. He lost 12 Tests under his captaincy. -PPI
