SARGODHA, Feb 13: Phularwan police claimed on Sunday to have seized several bombs from a man, foiling a possible bid of terrorism.

According to reports, Muhammad Ejaz alias Musla Rajput, who is alleged to have links with an outlawed religious organization, had seven bombs (250 grams of explosive material in each), eight petrol bombs, a rifle and a gun.

Led by information that Ejaz was planning to carry out acts of sabotage, besides killing his brother Muhammad Riaz, the police raided a place and recovered arms and ammunition from the suspect.

It is learnt that the suspect had used petrol bomb against Haji Muhammad Iqbal, a goldsmith, in 1995 over a dispute of wall. Now he has a dispute of property with his brother whom he had threatened to kill.

Some people expressed apprehensions that the arrested man might have been planning to exact revenge of Qari Shabir Usmani's murder. None of the police officials was available for comments.
