KARACHI, Jan 28: An exquisite and exotic display of talent and potential by the young students of Defence Authority Junior Model School, Darakshan, was the hallmark of the annual day of the institution held in Sea view Township here on Friday.

Director Education DHA, Brig (R) Muzaffar-ul-Hasan was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the director said that the DHA as a conscientious housing authority, besides ensuring quality housing and civic facilities, was also providing best educational facilities to its residents.

He said presently 20 schools and colleges were being run by the DHA Education Directorate providing quality education of various disciplines at different levels while there were 16,000 students, 900 teaching faculty and 600 non-teaching staff engaged in education sector.

Brig. Muzaffar stated that the work force in DHA educational institutions constituted 40 per cent of the overall organization's strength. He asked the parents to join the efforts of faculty members by sparing some precious time for their wards to reinforce efforts of teachers in grooming and training the leaders of tomorrow.

Earlier, Principal, Fahmeena Qaiser, presented the welcome address. The students later presented skits, tableaus and national songs, depicting various social and cultural values.

At the end, the chief guest distributed prizes among students. Besides others, the heads of DHA educational institutions, DHA officials and parents attended the function in a large number. -APP
