RAWALPINDI, Jan 26: A simple but impressive ceremony was held here at Qasim Army Aviation Base to hand over the 100th helicopter to army aviation overhauled by 503 aviation base workshop.

Vice Chief of Army Staff Gen Ahsan Saleem Hyat was the chief guest. On the occasion, recently overhauled Puma helicopter was formally handed over to the squadron by the chief guest. Gen Ahsan Saleem Hyat acknowledged the professional excellence and congratulated all ranks on the achievement of this historic landmark.

He said by utilizing expertise and professional excellence of engineers and technicians, the workshop had attained a significant landmark by accomplishing overhaul of 100 helicopters within the country.

Earlier, Brig Mansoor Ahmed, the commandant of 503 aviation base workshop, in his opening remarks, highlighted the historical perspective of overhauling activities.

General Officer Commanding Army Aviation, Maj-Gen Javed Aslam Tahir appreciated all ranks of the workshop for the achievement. 503 Aviation Base Workshop is an elite outfit of army aviation maintenance system, which enjoys unique distinction of being pioneer in helicopter maintenance and overhaul.
