KARACHI: Couple shot dead in Orangi

KARACHI, Jan 24: A young man shot dead his sister and brother-in-law over a petty issue in Orangi Town on Monday. Police said that Shaista, 32, and her husband Muhammad Ramazan had come from Hyderabad to her parent's house in Orangi on Eid day.

On Monday morning, Shaista passed some remarks and taunted her brother Hanif for indulging in drug peddling business, police quoting her relatives said. Her remarks provoke Hanif to open fire at her.

Hearing the gunshots, as Shaista's husband rushed into the room he too was shot dead. The suspect escaped following the incident. Later, the bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem.

INJURED: A labour councillor was wounded when unknown persons shot at him in Mohammadi Colony on Monday. Police said that the victim identified as Mohammad Hussain, 45, suffered a bullet wound. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was being provided medical treatment.

BODY FOUND: The body of an unidentified young man was recovered from a gunny bag in Orangi Town on Monday. Police said that the body was recovered from Sector 1-C near a private school. The victim had suffered head injuries inflicted with a blunt weapon. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
