KARACHI, Dec 30: The traffic police, keeping in view the expected movement of a large number of people on the eve of new year around the city especially visiting Clifton and Sea View, have announced special traffic arrangements.

According to a traffic police announcement, there will be one way traffic flow from Ali Baba/China Chowrangi to Akhtar Colony Light Signal via Sea View, Village Restaurant and Khayaban-i-Ittehad.

There will be two way traffic from Hoshing Chowk to Ali Baba/China Chowrangi via Clifton Bridge Khayaban-i-Iqbal, Schon Circle, Khayaban-i-Roomi, Boating Basin, Khayaban-i-Saddi, Bilawal Chowrangi and Ali Baba/China Chowrangi.

No vehicular traffic shall be allowed to move towards the two-sword roundabout from Schon Circle light signal, except those residing in the locality. Vehicular traffic would also not be allowed from Bilawal Chowrangi towards the Clifton Helipad and the road leading to Khayaban-i-Firdos would be completely closed for traffic except for those residing in the area.

All heavy traffic coming from Mauripur or PIDC Bridge would not be allowed to take the Mai Kolachi Bypass to Boating Basin. This heavy traffic shall be diverted towards Mauripur Road, and Site area to reach their destination; however, cars, motorcycles and other light vehicles can enter Boating Basin, through Mai Kolachi.

All heavy traffic coming from Korangi Industrial Area will be diverted from Qayyumabad roundabout towards Express Way, Shaheed-i-Millat Bridge, Shaheed-i-Millat Road, Jail Chowrangi, Teen Hatti, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Habib Bank Chowk, Estate Avenue, to reach their destination. - PPI
