KASUR, Dec 29: People threw traffic out of gear for about one hour on roads leading to the General Bus Stand and Raiwind in protest against the administration for allowing the setting up of factories in residential areas.

They also burnt used tyres and raised slogans against the administration to protest the killing of a minor boy and injuring of four labourers in a blast of a sizing factory boiler outside Kot Rukan Din Khanon on Tuesday night.

The protesters also demanded immediate arrest of the owner of sizing factory, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad. The police rushed to the spot and succeeded in dispersing the protesters on the assurance of arresting the factory owner forthwith. However, the owner was still at large till the filling of this report.

TWO KILLED: Two motorcyclists were crushed to death by a speeding tractor-trolley on Chhanga Manga Road at Kot Radha Kishan. Police said Sarfraz and Nisar were going to Chhanga Manga from Kot Radha Kishan by their motorcycles (3236-LRL) and (4600-GAP), respectively.

On Chhanga Manga Road, the tractor-trolley (LOK-2816) coming from the opposite side hit both the motorcyclists, killing both the riders instantly. Meanwhile, a tractor (7975-KSB) knocked down and killed a minor girl at Haveli Telianwali village, Raja Jang. As per police, Sonia (6) was crossing the road when the incident occurred. The area people handed over driver to the Raja Jang police.
