Ejaz Shafi passes away

KARACHI, Dec 16: Prominent leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Ejaz Shafi died of heart failure at his residence on Thursday night. Party leader Saleem Zia confirmed his death and said that he was a diabetic and had not been keeping well for a week.

The family said that Mr Ejaz had not suffered a heart attack before. It was the first attack which proved fatal. He died before he was taken to a hospital. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Mr Shafi was central Vice-President of PML-N, Chief Organizer for Sindh and member of the party's central working committee. He spoke at a seminar on "Commemorating East Pakistan: Will History be Repeated" on Thursday at Idara Noor-i-Haq.
