SUKKUR, Dec 10: A heavy contingent of Rangers and police personnel conducted raids in Deparja and other places near Moro on Friday morning after receiving information that the kidnapped judges had been kept in the area.

Personnel of the law-enforcement agencies, led by a colonel, also conducted house-to-house search. The search operation started at 6am and continued till 11am. According to police sources, arms and ammunition were recovered during the operation but no arrest was made.

They confirmed that the operation had been conducted on information that the judges, Farooq Ahmad Channa and Abdul Wahab Abbasi, had been kept in Deparja. Meanwhile, members of the District Bar Association continued their boycott of court proceedings on Friday.

KILLED: Two people were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a speedy truck in the Sarhad police station jurisdiction, Ghotki, on Friday. Those killed were identified as Shabbir Ahmad and Bakhshal. Police impounded the truck while the driver escaped. Police have registered a case.

ROBBED: A cloth seller was robbed of Rs15,000 in cash and cloth by bandits on the Karampur Magsi link road, Jacobabad, on Friday. The cloth seller, Gul Khan Pathan, was going on a bicycle when the bandits intercepted and looted him.
