KARACHI, Dec 9: Kidnapping of three judges from the interior of Sindh has been widely condemned by the legal community and political parties.

The Pakistan People's Party termed it a serious failure of the government in providing security not only to the common man but also to those who were responsible for dispensing justice.

"The incident shows that government's writ had miserably failed," said a spokesman for the PPP who also deplored the government over kidnapping of three minorities community members in Shikarpur.

It demanded immediate recovery of the people who had been kidnapped. Meanwhile, lawyers staged a protest and token hunger strike outside Karachi Press Club to protest against the kidnapping of judges.

The protest was organized by the Civil Liberties Union in which its chairman Nihal Hashmi, Zareen Sati, Khalid Soofi, Nasrullah Kharal, Mohammad Akhtar, Samina, Aamir advocates and others participated.

President, Sindh Bar Council, Ghafoor Sadiq, advocate, lauded the lawyers for taking up the case of the abducted lawyers and served them juice to call off their protest.
