KARACHI: APNS awards announced

KARACHI, Dec 3: The All-Pakistan Newspapers Soceity has announced the names of the winners of the "17th APNS Advertising Agency Awards" for the year 2001-2002.

The awards will be given at an APNS awards ceremony scheduled to be held on Dec 13 in Islamabad.

The Orient Advertising agency won the highest number of business awards for the 17th consecutive time. This year the agency has won six awards in various categories.

To acknowledge the services of Mr S.H. Hashmi, the APNS has also decided to award him Akhbar Dost Award, whereas he was given Millennium Award as well as Life Time Achievement Award in the past.

The panel of judges for the 17th APNS agency awards consisted of the following advertising experts: Mr Haroon Bashir, Chief Executive, TCS Karachi; Ziauddin Jaddi, Karachi; Mr Nazakat Bhatti, Director, PR, Punjab Seed Corporation, Lahore; Riaz Mahmood, Karachi and former federal minister Javed Jabbar. The panel selected the following awards:

The Secretary General of the APNS announced that the society has decided to give Akhbar Dost Awards for placing highest business with member publications during the last two decades to Mr S.H. Hashmi.

It was further decided that Mr Tahir A Khan of Inter flow Communications (Pvt) Ltd, Mr Anwar H. Ramal of the Asiatic Advertising and Mr Inam Akbar of the Midas (Pvt) Ltd will also be given Akhbar Dost Awards.
