KARACHI, Nov 30: The Sindh Home Minister, Rauf Siddiqui, on Tuesday gave three days time to owners of vehicles with tinted glasses to remove them for being unlawful, warning of strict legal action otherwise.

Addressing a press conference, the home minister said that in recent days a number of such vehicles had been apprehended, which were used in terrorist or subversive acts.

Mr Siddiqui said that in some other cases, it had been noticed that different kinds of number plates were used over government number plates, covering up original number plates, adding that various elements doing this had been found involved in unlawful activities.

He requested members of assemblies, government officers and other concerned people not to use any other plate over the original number plate calling upon the administration to check the same.

To a question about the continued enforcement of "high security alert" in the city, the minister said the high alert was ordered following reports indicating that some kind of terrorist or subversive act might be carried out. - APP
