KARACHI, Oct 22: Bandits killed two children and wounded their mother in North Karachi late on Thursday night. Police said that armed suspects barged into the house of Mohammad Tufail in North Karachi and snatched gold ornaments from his wife Samina.

They said that the bandits were fleeing when her son Umair and daughter Kinza tried to grapple with them. The armed men opened fire wounding both the children and their mother and escaped.

Police said that the two children and their mother were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Umair, 15, and Kinza, 12, died during treatment. Their mother was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit after giving her first aid, hospital sources said.

MURDER: A man was arrested in Baldia town for killing his step son. Police said that Shabana, mother of two children, had married Mohammad Zaman a couple of months back after leaving her first husband. On Wednesday night, she lodged an FIR in Baldia police station stating that her three-year-old son Daniyal had gone missing.

Suspecting Zaman's involvement in the disappearance of the boy, police picked him up late on Thursday night. During interrogation, Zaman confessed dumping Daniyal into a drainage line in Defence. On Friday, police recovered the body on Zaman's disclosure. Police said that Zaman had thrown the boy alive in the drain.

FIR: An FIR has been lodged against four policemen of Aziz Bhatti police station for a custodial death that occurred earlier this month. Aziz Bhatti police had arrested three suspects earlier this month under Arms Ordinance. Later, one of the suspects, Muhammad Arif, 35, died in police custody.
