KARACHI: Nazim visits city areas

KARACHI, Oct 7: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan visited Lyari, Keamari and Saddar Towns on Thursday morning and inspected cleanliness work in these areas in connection with 10-day long cleanliness campaign.

During his visit, the city nazim met people in Lyari and Saddar towns and also visited offices in Lyari and Saddar towns and checked the attendance register and reviewed the cleanliness work.

He said cleanliness work should be carried out at the earliest and measures be taken for making the Karachi a neat and clean city. "This spirit should also continue after the conclusion of ongoing campaign.

He directed that cleanliness work in congested commercial and busy centres be carried out in night so that business activities do not suffer. The Nazim laid special emphasis on improving sanitary conditions in Lyari and said an example of brotherhood be established among towns. Gulberg Town will cooperate with the Lyari town in its cleanliness drive.

He directed the health department of the city government to help eliminated stray dogs in Lyari. During his visit to the Saddar Town, Farooq Faria briefed the nazim about the details of work in his town.

The city nazim ordered that sanitary conditions be improved in the area around Shah Rasool Colony, Government Girls Khatri College and near Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine.

He said that work would be carried out in all parts of Karachi without any discrimination. He also visited Shahrah-i-Ghalib Clifton and Haji Camp. The City Nazim issued directives on the spot and said that the city government wanted to resolve the civic problems on priority basis. -PPI
