MARDAN, Oct 4: NWFP Assembly Deputy Speaker Ikramullah Shahid said on Monday that students were national assets and proper education and training would make them useful citizens of the country.

Speaking at an inter-house quiz competition at the City School here as the chief guest, Mr Shahid said quiz competitions were the real means and methods where students find courage, spirit and ambition, therefore, such contests should be regularly held in schools.

He deplored that the so-called war on terror was launched against the Muslims the Americans, Indians and Russians who wanted to eliminate them. He said children were being killed and women disgraced in Iraq but no Muslim country or rulers have the courage to raise voice against the atrocities. Four houses were made for the quiz competition as yellow, blue, red and green. The competition was won by the red.
