SARGODHA, Sept 29: Bhalwal police claimed on Wednesday to have registered a case against 14 police officials, including its former SHO Inspector Sher Ahmad Tiwana, who had allegedly committed dacoity in a house in uniform.

The case has been instituted on the order of the Lahore High Court. Muhammad Saeed, a resident of Chak 16-SB, alleged that on the night of June 24 Bhalwal police SHO Sher Ahmad Tiwana, along with 13 other officials, including sub-inspectors Muhammad Aslam and Abdul Latif, barged into his house.

They took away Rs1,150 in cash, gold ornaments and wrist watches and also took him to the police station where they recorded his signature on blank papers. He further alleged that he approached police higher-ups with the complaint, but no one paid heed to his request.

Then, he said, he filed a writ petition with Lahore High Court's Justice Sheikh Abdul Rasheed who took serious notice of the highhandedness of the police and directed the DPO to register a case.
