Published September 28, 2004

PESHAWAR, Sept 27: Security forces during a successful search operation have recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and explosive from the hideouts of terrorists in the caves and makeshift camps of Asman Punga in South Waziristan Agency.

According to ISPR, during operation underground tunnels and crawl trenches were also discovered. The arms captured by the security forces include automatic rifles, rocket launchers, rocket-propelled grenades, mortar bombs along with fuses, ammunition and various kinds of medicines.

Investigations carried out by the intelligence agencies confirm that the same type of weapons and ammunition were used in various terrorist acts elsewhere in the country in the past. -APP
