KARACHI: Student dies in road accident

KARACHI, Sept 19: A student of a religious seminary died in a road accident in Korangi. Police said that eight-year-old Hamza was crossing a main road near Bilal Chowrangi when he was hit by a minibus of route X-23. The errant driver of the vehicle escaped from the spot following the accident.

The young boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. In another accident, an official of the Airport Security Force died while crossing railway tacks near Drig Colony on Sunday.

Police said that the deceased, Mohammad Zaman, a Sub-inspector of the ASF, hailed from Faisalabad. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

DIES: Body of an unidentified fifty-year-old man was found from the marshy areas located near the Natives Jetty Bridge on Sunday.
