SUKKUR: Nine villagers injured in attack

SUKKUR, Sept 12: Nine people were injured in a clash near Pano Akil on Saturday night. A group of 20 men attacked a vegetable market and assaulted persons of the rival group with sticks and hatchets.

As a result nine people from either side were injured. They were identified as Hizbullah Mahar, Saeedullah Mahar, Momin Mahar, Abdul Khaliq Mahar, Latif Almani, Atta Mohammad Almani, Sikandar Almani, Nisar Almani and Sain Bux Almani.

The injured were admitted to the combined military hospital, Pano Akil. Heavy contingents of police from Pano Akil, Baiji, Raza Goth, Rohri, Tando Dero, and Pano Akil Cantt rushed to the scene with armoured personnel carriers and brought the situation under control.

Meanwhile, a group of armed men kidnapped Qurban Mahar, Panah Mahar and Qadir Mahar while they were on their way to Pano Akil from Raza Goth. The TPO Pano Akil with heavy contingent of police conducted a raid on the Almani village and released the kidnapped men.

ROBBERY: A police official was robbed by armed men near the Session Court in the limits of A-section police station, Kandhkot, on Saturday. The armed men barged in the house of Abdul Haq Chachar, in- charge, special branch, Kandhkot, and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables. The police rushed to the scene but bandits managed to flee. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
