SAHIWAL, Sept 9: The district government has decided to give 13 boys' and girls' schools of Sahiwal and Chichawatni sub-divisions under the control of two social organizations. Necessary agreements and other formalities in this regard will be completed within the next few days.

This was said by district Nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz in a meeting held in this connection here on Wednesday evening. The organizations - CARE and Amal Foundation hail from Lahore and Sahiwal respectively. The former was represented by Seema Aziz, Abid Aziz, Saira Hafeez and the latter by Dr Mazhar Hussain Sherazi and Tahir Habib.

The education department officials were also present in the meeting. The district Nazim hoped that the standard of education, attendance of students in classes and atmosphere of the institutions would improve by close coordination between the department and the NGOs.

Mr Nawaz said the teachers' interests would be fully safeguarded through timely grant of annual increments and other service benefits. The schools being given under the control of the NGOs are: government higher secondary school, urban area, MC junior model girls high school, MC Nurul Nabi primary school, Bilal Colony, government girls primary school, Jahaz Ground, MC girls primary school No 8, Jahaz Ground, MC primary school A-branch, Mohallah Tullianwala, MC boys high school, Farid Town.

The schools in Chichawatni are: government girls high school Block No 5, government boys primary school No 4, Grain Market, government boys primary school No 5, Gao Shala, MC boys middle school branch No 1, MC primary school No 5, Shamspura and MC primary school No 1, Malak Park.

SEWER: The sewerage disposal motor in Noorshah Town burnt some one month back has not been repaired, choking completely sewerage pipelines in the locality. The sewer water has flooded all the streets of the town and the road between Noorshah-Mullah Hamza is also awash with sewer water, causing great inconvenience to the residents.

This was stated by PPP Noorshah president Zakir Hussain Braal while talking to newsmen here on Thursday. He said the residents would block the Noorshah-Faisalabad Road if tehsil and district Nazims, whom the complaints were forwarded, had not taken any step in this regard.
