SAHIWAL, Sept 9: Most valuable parts of some 28 cars and 152 motorcycles parked in the Police Lines here under security have been removed. These cars and motorcycles have been reduced only to skeletons.

This was alleged by Public Safety Commission chairman Syed Alamdar Hussain Shah while talking to newsmen. He disclosed that a committee had also been formed to check the recovered vehicles being misused by police officers.

Mr Shah said that at least 300 complaints out of 330 received by the district public safety commission so far had been addressed. The police, he alleged, did not cooperate with the DPSC as only three police officers were issued show-cause notices.

He said that country's all the DPSC chairmen would hold a protest demonstration at Sahiwal during the scheduled visit of National Reconstruction Bureau chairman Danial Aziz on Sept 18.

Details of the recovered cars and motorcycles which have been converted into scrap are as hereunder:

RECOVERED 152 MOTORCYCLES INCLUDE:

Honda CD-70-55, Yamaha 100 CC-67, Kawasaki-9, Suzuki-14, Java-1, Sohrab CD-70-2, Honda 100S-2 Vespa-2. Meanwhile, the District Public Safety Commission has given approval for the sale of scrap after necessary formalities.
