HYDERABAD, Sept 2: Leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MNA Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair and MPA Rehman Rajput have welcomed the announcement of Rs12 billion development package by the prime minister Shaukat Aziz for the deprived area of Tharparkar.

In a joint statement here on Thursday, they demanded that the Hyderabad development package announced by President General Pervez Musharraf on Aug 18 the last year should also be released.

They said the people elected from Hyderabad belonging to a particular party had done nothing for the city during the last 15 years. Not only this but even Rs500 million development package announced by the former Sindh governor Mohammedmian Soomro has also not been released, they said.

They said unnecessary restrictions were being placed on the district government to carry out development works. They feared that the organization would not allow the release of the Hyderabad development package.
