HYDERABAD, Aug 26: Sindh Education Minister Hameeda Khuhro has said syllabus of primary education is being revised to make it more effective and easier for children.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Scholars' Academy, sponsored by the Mohammad Usman Deeplai Trust in Qasimabad, she regretted that Sindh was losing its talent due to the poor standard of education.

She said government school teachers were getting their salaries and also working full time in other departments. Ms Khuhro said she was receiving complaints about the low education standard, ghost teachers and political interference in government schools.

Keeping in view the situation, she said, the government was planning to devise a strategy in consultation with educational experts to bring about administrative and academic improvement in government schools.

She said this would improve the quality of education and create a competitive atmosphere in the education sector. She stressed the need for creating awareness among people so that they could be engaged in the process of monitoring of schools.

She appreciated the performance of private schools and cited the example of a private school of Karachi where 37 out of 42 students passed their Board examinations in grade-A.

Lauding the services rendered by Mohammad Usman Deeplai, she said he was one of the heroes of Sindh who had played a vital role in educating people and promoting journalism. She also appreciated the performance of students of the Scholars' Academy.
