KARACHI, Aug 22: The Madadgar-15 centres in the city will be strengthened further in a week with deployment of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), a new force created to combat the crimes through swift action.

"The QRF, consisting of Elite Commandos of Sindh police, would be launched by coming Sunday," Fayyaz Leghari, DIG (Operation), Karachi, told PPI. The idea behind deploying the QRF at the Madadgar-15 centres in the city was to ensure prompt response to the citizens' complaints, he added.

Mr Leghari said at least 10 QRF commandos would be stationed in a single shift at each of the six Madadgar-15 centres in the city, and added that initially there would be two shifts, but later the commandos would be available round the clock.

He said currently the arrangements were being made for providing at least one room, with a washroom, at each centre for the QRF personnel, and added that there was also a plan to provide food to the commandos during their duty hours at the centres.

The DIG said since the centres had proved helpful to the citizens, steps were being taken to equip these with modern technology. "Previously, the centres had to contact the police station after receiving any call. Now, the commandos would be available at these centres to rush to the place of incident," he said. -PPI
