KARACHI: Nazim visits kutchi abadis

KARACHI, Aug 19: The City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan, on Thursday paid a three-hour long visit to Hawkesbay, Budhani Goth, Dil Falah Goth, Mauripur, Mohammedi and Machhar Colony in Lyari Town.

During the visit, the nazim went through the narrow lanes of the kutchi abadis, inquired about sewerage and other problems, and issued orders for improving health and sanitary conditions, water supply and school buildings there.

Naimat called for special attention to be paid to the construction and development of schools in kutchi abadis. He also visited Government Girls Urdu Primary and Secondary Schools in Mauripur village, Keamari Town, went round its classrooms, and checked attendance registers.

He called for a report regarding the number of teachers and students in all four government schools of Dil Falah Goth, Hawkesbay, and issued immediate action for construction of a Government Primary School Mohammedi Colony. He also assured to consider a proposal regarding upgrading the secondary school of Dil Falah Goth.

At Budhani Village, the nazim reviewed construction work of roads and water tanks and installation of water pipeline at Shershah Chowk. He directed that work on the latter mentioned pipeline be expedited. Besides, he ordered immediate placement of manhole covers over open gutters.

The residents of kutchi abadis and goths were delighted to see the nazim among them. Regarding construction of speed breakers on Hawkesbay road, Naimatullah said the city government would not allow such speed breakers on main roads, since they caused accidents, adding that all illegal and dangerous speed breakers would be removed. - APP
