KARACHI, Aug 11: An man was shot dead by police in Malir early on Wednesday. Police identified him as Ahmed Khaskheli alias doctor, an outlaw carrying a head money of Rs0.2 million.

According to police, Khaskheli, along with another man, was riding a motorcycle when ordered to stop near Ghazi Town. However, he responded with firing and tried to escape. Police returned the fire killing him instantly, they said, adding that his companion managed to escape.

According to the police, a TT pistol was recovered from the dead outlaw whereas the motorcycle (KAG-9517) in his possession had been snatched at gunpoint in Model Colony.

Khaskheli was wanted in more than a dozen cases of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping for ransom and dacoity committed in Karachi, Hyderabad and Thatta. His body was shifted to the JPMC for postmortem examination.

BODIES FOUND: Body of a middle-aged man was recovered from a house in Korangi on Wednesday. Police that some residents of Bilawal Colony had approached them with complaint of foul smell emanating from a house in their neighbourhood. During a search of the house, the police found body of Mohammad Anwar 40, believed to have died three days back.

The body was shifted to the JPMC for postmortem examination. Police said that victim had apparently suffered injury from a hard and blunt object. The victim's landlord, Chaudhry Munir Ahmed, is being interrogated.

Body of a young man was recovered from a graveyard in Nazimabad on Wednesday morning. Police said that the 25-year-old victim, wearing shorts, had a bullet wound in his head.

He could not be identified till late in the evening. The body was shifted first to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination and then to the Edhi morgue for identification.

ACCIDENT: Driver of a truck died and two of his companions were injured when the vehicle was hit by a speeding bus in Steel Town on Wednesday morning. Police identified the deceased as Asif and the injured as Gul Sher and Khan Mohammad.

Two passengers of the bus also sustained injured. In another accident, a 50-year-old man was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle in the Korangi Industrial Area on Wednesday. Police said the unidentified victim was trying to cross the road when hit by the vehicle.
