HYDERABAD, Aug 6: Ultra- sound and urine tests of seven women, who had recently escaped from the local Darul Aman, showed that none of them was pregnant, medico-legal officer Dr Sabira Sultana said on Friday.

Investigation in-charge of the Qasimabad police Lal Bux Lashari confirmed that he had received reports from the MLO. The MLO conducted physical-medical examinations of six of the women and got ultra-sound and urine tests of all of them conducted on Thursday. The seventh woman, Maqsooda, will undergo a physical examination in a couple of days.

Reports of ultra-sound and urine tests were handed over to Dr Sultana by gynaecologists, showing no pregnancy. Parveen and Basri are reported to have told police, court and media persons that they were six and four months pregnant, respectively, and that they had been abused in and outside Darul Aman.

Parveen had also told newsmen that she had lied before the court that she was married. Meanwhile, hearing in an application of seven women was adjourned to August 10 as the sessions judge was on leave.

The women, who are on bail, have been accommodated in a shelter of destitute women, Panah, and will be produced in the court on August 17.
