SIALKOT, Aug 4: The government has evolved a comprehensive strategy to encourage the private sector to increase export of value-added horticulture products under the supervision of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

EPB sources said on Wednesday the government would encourage private sector to invest in green houses and cold storages by providing them concessions in this regard. They said the Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Board (PHDEB) would provide service of wagons with refrigerators to exporters of flowers on experiment basis in Lahore and other stations where exporters show interest.

They offered freight subsidy to the exporters who would keep the standard of their products up to international level.

OPEN KUTCHERY: Punjab Public Accounts Committee chairman Azeem Noori Ghuman and Accountant General Wazir Ahmad Qureshi will hold an open kutchery at the District Accounts Office here on Thursday (today).

They will redress the grievances of retired government employees belonging to Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala and Hafizabad districts.

VISIT: Visa officer in British High Commission, Islamabad, Mrs Alex Pond will visit the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Thursday to discuss the matters of mutual interest with the local business community. She will visit industrial units in Sambrial, Daska, Uggoki and Sialkot city.
