KARACHI, July 27: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has ordered immediate removal of SHOs if any crime den is found in their respective areas throughout the province.

The governor issued a last warning to SHOs, saying the only chance they can be given is to eliminate all the vice dens and obtain a certificate verifying it, he said while presiding over a meeting at the Governor's House.

In case the government received any report that there still exists any den of gambling, drugs and obscene films, stern action would be taken under the law against concerned police officials of that area.

Those present at the meeting included advisor on excise and taxation M A Jalil, advisor on local government Waseem Akhtar, advocate-general Sindh Anwar Mansoor Khan, principal secretary to the governor Brig (Retd) Akhtar Zamin, additional chief secretary (Home) Anwar Haider, CCPO Tariq Jamil, DIG Operations Fayyaz Leghari, Additional Advocate General Qazi Khalid Ali, Secretary Law department Ghulam Nabi Shah and others.

Additional home secretary Anwar Haider and other officials briefed the governor on the on-going actions in Lyari and other areas of the city to clean the localities from anti-social elements.

They also informed the meeting of the steps being taken to improve the law and order situation and to protect the life and property of the people. In this connection, the governor directed the authorities to strengthen intelligence network and establish a close liaison with area people and notables to ensure their cooperation.

The governor also called for removal of graffiti and monitoring the anti-encroachment drive and utilising their best abilities to nab criminals. He also asked them to adopt transparent measures in handling anti-social elements and criminals and meet all requirements of justice.
