FAISALABAD, July 13: The district government has chalked out a comprehensive strategy for the establishment of new filling stations at all the six tehsils. It has declared several roads unfit for the stations.

This was claimed by District Nazim Zahid Nazir while presiding over a meeting of the heads of different government departments here on Tuesday. He said a ban had been imposed on the establishment of petrol pumps and CNG stations on the busy Circular Road and some roads of Saddar and Samundri tehsils, which had been declared dangerous for the purpose.

Besides, a limit had also been fixed as precautionary measures and in the light of policy guidelines received from the industries department. The meeting declared several roads, including the Circular Road, Eight Bazaars, Canal Road, Narwala Road, Jinnah Colony Road, Gate Intersection, and the Satiana Road dangerous for the set up of filling stations.

Besides, there will be no more than two petrol pumps and two CNG stations on the Sargodha, Satiana, Sir Fazal Ali and the Samundri roads. The roads on which the limit of installation of two CNG stations each on a first-come-first-serve basis had been imposed included marked areas of the Jhang Road, Sargodha Road and the Sheikhupura Road, the Nazim said.
