HYDERABAD, July 11: A bill passed by the Sindh Assembly calling for teaching Sindhi language as a compulsory subject in government and private schools, should be implemented in letter and spirit.

This was demanded through a resolution adopted at a conference on "Shah Latif, Sindhi Language and Society" organized by the Sindhi Language Authority here on Saturday. Through another resolution, it was demanded that appointment of teachers on political basis should be stopped.

It was also demanded that Shah Latif Excellence Centre, Bhit Shah, should be reorganized, his works should be translated, and Shah-jo-Risalo should be preserved through compact disc as well as cassette in the voice of some gifted singer.

In all, the conference adopted 22 resolutions, one of which demanded that the poetry of the Shah should be launched on an official web site, and his memorial should be erected in Islamabad and Karachi.
