HYDERABAD July 2: Justice Azizullah M. Memon of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Friday issued bailable warrant of arrest against a sub-inspector of Federal Investigation Agency and restrained him from harassing the petitioner.

The order was passed on a constitutional petition filed by Noshad Ali against the SHO Kotri, SHO Site, FIA sub-inspector, union council-7 Nazim, UC Walhar-2 Nazim and others.

The petitioner said that he had embraced Islam and married a widow, Salma, who had five children. He said that he divorced his wife after he came to know about her dubious character. He also paid Rs50,000 to her in respect of her dowry.

He said that Salma was harassing him through FIA authorities and Nazim UC Bholari, levelling false and baseless allegations. He prayed the court to restrain respondents from harassing him and direct the SHO to lodge his FIR against Salma.

The court had issued notice to the FIA sub-inspector for today but he was absent in the court. The court issued bailable warrants of arrest against him in a sum of Rs10,000. The case has been adjourned until July 7.

LIFE IMPRISONMENT: The sixth additional district judge here on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to two accused in a double murder case. Gul Hassan Bhatti and Tanvir Kaimkhani were booked by the Tando Allahyar police following the murder of Suleman and his son Saleem on March 2, 1995.

The accused had barged in their house to commit theft. The father and son were shot dead after they offered resistance. The court also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 each to be paid to the heirs of the deceased and in case of default of payment of fine they would undergo another six months in jail.
