QUETTA, June 9: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf said on Wednesday that unnecessary expenditure should be controlled in the next financial year to keep the non-development budget low so that the funds saved could be used for development plans.

Presiding over a meeting held to review the preparation of budget, the chief minister stressed the need to maintain balance in available resources and expenditure. He said posts should be created within the available resources.

He said the option of joint investment with private sector in industrial and mineral development should be studied to provide employment opportunities and promote investment. He said all departments should enhance their revenue and improve the facilities provided to people.

He directed the authorities concerned to prepare a website about the resources and investment opportunities in Balochistan and other matters related to the province. He asked the chairman of the chief minister's inspection team to inspect ongoing uplift programmes of the provincial and district governments and submit his report about their completion.
