KINGSTON, June 7: Bangladesh lost six wickets for 10 runs in a sensational final half-hour prior to lunch, before going down by an innings and 99 runs on the penultimate day of the second and final Test against West Indies on Monday.

In a dramatic batting collapse following a stand of 120 for the fourth-wicket between captain Habibul Bashar and left-hander Manjural Islam Rana, Bangladesh slumped from 154 for three to reach 164 for nine at the lunch interval. Shortly after the break, the tourists were all out for 176 to hand West Indies 1-0 win in the series.

Left-arm medium-fast bowler Pedro Collins wreaked the most damage to take Test-best figures of six for 53 from 18 overs into the interval. It was Collins' third haul of five wickets or more in 24 Tests and second against the Tigers.

Off-spin bowler Omari Banks, who made the breakthrough when he removed Manjural, supported with two for 40 from 13 overs. Habibul and Manjural had frustrated West Indies for close to 1-1/2 hours with purposeful batting after Bangladesh had continued from their overnight position of 66 for three.

Habibul proceeded to complete his 50 with a drive through cover off Ramnaresh Sarwan for a single. He and Manjural were just beginning to run West Indies ragged when Brian Lara brought back Banks for a second spell he broke the stand.

Manjural had lofted Banks' fourth delivery for a straight six. Two balls later, he essayed a cut at the final delivery of the over and was caught at backward point for 35.

Next over, Habibul was adjudged lbw for 77 on the backfoot to a yorker length delivery from Collins after he struck nine fours from 96 balls in just over two hours.

Four balls later, Mushfiqur Rahman drove loosely at a delivery from Collins pitched outside the off-stump and was caught at third slip for nought. Next over, Khaled Mashud mistimed a flick and was caught at short mid wicket for nought off Banks.

The two Mohammads, Ashraful and Rafique, looked like they would bat through to lunch, but Collins struck once more. Rafique was bowled for two going on to the back foot to a ball of good length to give Collins his fifth wicket.

Three overs later, Tapash Baisya was caught at mid off for three when he drove Collins into the lap of the fielder. On Sunday, Ramnaresh Sarwan slammed a career-best 261 as he and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (101) shared an unbroken stand of 262 for the fifth wicket.

West Indies surprisingly declared their first inings at 559 for four soon after Chanderpaul had reached his his 10th Test hundred with a lead of 275. With 20 overs available before the close, Bangladesh slumped to 66 for three in their second innings.

Sarwan struck 32 boundaries from 402 balls in just over 9-1/2 hours. The declaration, however, did not come until Chanderpaul too, had reached his landmark when he turned Mushfiqur through mid-wicket for a single.
