MITHI, June 3: Residents of the Dunhai village, Diplo taluka, and the Talhi Memon village, Mithi taluka, have demanded that Nadra authorities should ensure the issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards to people who have submitted forms for the cards.
Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, Mohammad Mubin, Yar Mohammad, Mohammad Ramzan and other villagers regretted that they had submitted forms in 2001 and 2002 but had still not been issued the CNICs.
They also showed receipts of the forms to the journalists. They demanded an inquiry into the matter and action against officials responsible for the delay in issuance of the cards.
FAVOURITISM ALLEGED: District leaders of the Government Secondary Teachers Association and Primary Teachers Association have called upon the government to conduct a high-level inquiry into the appointment of lecturers.
Talking to this correspondent on Wednesday Arbab Zulfiqar and Ramzan Samejo said that a good number of Thari candidates had obtained above 70 per cent marks in the written test held by the Sindh Public Service Commission in Dec 2003. They said that they had not been selected by members of the selection committee as appointments were made on favouritism and nepotism.
They alleged that less talented and undeserving candidates have reportedly been declared entitled to get the posts, creating resentment among them. They appealed to the government to initiate a high-level inquiry into the matter to provide justice to the deserving candidates.
