KASUR, June 1: A sum of Rs12 million will be spent to make the Kasur Public School (KPS) a model institution. This was decided at a meeting of board of governors held here on Tuesday presided over by BoG chairman district Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmad Khan.

DCO Mohammad Hashim Tareen, tehsil Nazim Malik Rasheed Khan, principal GM Malik, EDO (R) Akhtar Warraich and other officials attended the meeting. Under the expansion programme, additional rooms for junior section, a multi-purpose auditorium, houses for teachers and a new water supply scheme will be constructed besides purchase of two coasters.

The meeting decided to constitute a three-member committee, consisting of principal GM Malik, Haji Ashfaq, and Chaudhry Muhammad Sadiq to ensure construction work expeditiously.

The district Nazim urged the school administration to further upgrade its standard and announced Rs2 million on behalf of the district government and Rs1.7 million out of the Citizens Community Boards (CCBs).

AXED TO DEATH: Four people axed a man to death and amputated legs of another here at Sheikhpur Kuhna Gand Singhwala on Tuesday over an eve-teasing dispute. Police said the mother and the sister of Mirza Shaukat Beg were washing clothes in the fields when Mohammad Boota with his three accomplices came and allegedly started teasing them.

Later, Shaukat, his father Sohna and brother Abdul Rehman reportedly exchanged hot words with the eve-teasers. Boota and his three men attacked them with axes, killing Sohna on the spot and amputating legs of Rehman.
