KARACHI, May 23: Speakers at a rally on Sunday demanded that killers of the members of a minority community, who were killed in the past few days, be arrested immediately.

They were speaking at the rally, organized by the All Pakistan Minorities' Alliance at the Press Club. The APMA leaders and former members of the Sindh Assembly, Michael Javed and Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, spoke on the occasion, besides Yusuf Gill, Boota Masih, Francis Allahrakha and others.

They demanded that the murderers be brought to the book and awarded exemplary punishment according to the law and that the heirs of the victims be given compensation.

They urged the government to take immediate action to allay the growing feeling of insecurity among the minorities in the country in face of ever-increasing incidents of target killings.

The protesters, who were carrying banners inscribed with slogans in support of their demands and also chanting slogans, stages a token hunger strike and later offered prayers for the departed souls.
