KARACHI, May 19: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that better and lasting results can be achieved through collective efforts against terrorists. He was presiding over a high-level meeting held at Governor House on Wednesday in which the participants took stock of the prevailing law and order situation in the province.

The IGP briefed the meeting about the details of arrest of Kamran alias Atif, ring leader of a gang of terrorists involved in various cases of terrorism. The governor paid compliments to the staff which worked so hard in this case and said that not only they protected innocent people from these terrorists, but also brought good name to their department.

"We have to fight against prevailing global conditions and challenges of terrorists collectively", he said and emphasised the need for remaining above other priorities to protect the city against terrorists and in the larger national interests.

In this regard, he called for building up an environment of mutual unity and brotherhood at all levels not only in the city but at the provincial level also. He stressed on making the intelligence network more effective and strengthened, besides coordinated linkages between various law enforcing organisations and people.

The officials attending the meeting briefed the Governor about action being taken against dacoits and criminals operative in the interior of Sindh, the situation arising from non-payment of electricity dues of new Sabzimandi and other related matters.
