KARACHI, May 20: The masses should come forward and assist the police and other law-enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order conditions in the province.

This consensus emerged at a seminar organized by the Alumni of the Government College of Commerce and Economics on “Law and Order Situation in Sindh” on Monday.

Delivering the keynote address at the seminar, Citizen-Police Liaison Committee chief Jameel Yousuf emphasized the need for community participation to help control the worsening law and order condition and to muster assistance to the police.

He advocated the need for the appointment of a full-fledged home minister for the province. Citing the examples of some other countries, he said if the financial affairs of the province could not be run without a minister, how could the administration control law and order situation without a home minister.
